1. Introduction

IACD is a pure international non-governmental organization composed of professional specialists. It is a corporation registered in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Republic of Korea in 1993.

It is oriented to hand over the past invaluable experience of Korean development through scientific activities. IACD also desires to help the northern countries and the Third World , our neighbors, by sending different types of specialists.

2. Purpose of Establishment

① Promoting the international reciprocal understanding and relationship in non-governmental way through community specialists and researchers among all Asian countries in various fields such as human knowledge, society, religion, art, culture and so on.

② Helping the social, economical and cultural development in related countries by supporting advanced technology and sending specialists to the developing countries.

③ Planning the sound economical & social development of developing Asian countries through nonprofit business and investment activities which can contribute to the social and economical development in related countries.


3. History of IACD

1983 IACD was founded to promote education, culture development and exchanges among developing countries in Asia .
1983 - 1988 Performed extensive research and studies on the Altaic Regions, Central Asia and the minority groups in China
April 1989 Provided humanitarian aid and medical service for the refugees from the Indo-Chinese Peninsula
May 1991 Provided medical services for Kurdish refugees
July 1992 Sent a short-term medical team to Siberia and Mongolia
Held the first Asia Minor Exploration Seminar in Turkey
December 1993 Registered with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea
February 1994 Opened LA Regional office
March 1994 Opened Azerbaijan Regional Office in Baku , Azerbaijan
April 1994 Opened the Spiritual and Cultural Heritage Center in Uzbekistan
Established the Korean Society of Central Asian Studies
August 1994 Established the Institute of Altaic Study at the Baku State University in Azerbaijan
March 1995 Opened the Korean Studies Department at the Baku World Language University
May 1995 Opened Uzbekistan Regional Office in Tashkent , Uzbekistan
Opened the Center for Korean Studies at the Samarkand University of Foreign Languages in Uzbekistan ; Signed an agreement with Hanoi University of Teachers on Scholastic and Cultural Exchanges
October 1995 Opened Mongol Regio na l Office in Ulanbataar , Mongolia
November 1995 Became a member of the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA)
July 1997 Published the first volume of the International Journal of Central Asian Studies
September 1997 Founded the Bright Future School in Mongolia
July 1998 Opened Japan Regional Office
August 1999 Bright Future School in Mongolia acquired official license to provide elementary and secondary education.
Joined the Korea NGO Council for Overseas Cooperation (KCOC) Opened the Korean Culture Center at Andijon National University of Industry and Economy in Uzbekistan .
Opened the Health Center for Mothers and Children, and a computer center in Nukus

July 2000 Silk Road 2000 International Culture Festival was held

Held medical seminars at the Uzbekistan National Medical University co-sponsored by the Department of Pediatrics, the Department of Plastic Surgery at Yonsei University , and Seoul Samsung Hospital Medical Team
January 2001 Sent 1 st medical team to Chechen
February 2001 Hosted “ Koshin University - Buhara Medical School Medical Conference” in Buhara , Uzbekistan
April 2001 Delegations from Vietnam 's UACCD children's education team visited Korea .
May 2001 Opened a medical library at the Uzbekistan National University in Tashkent .
June 2001 Sent a short-term medical team to Afghanistan .
July 2001 Sent 2 nd medical team to Chechen.
September 2001 Opened Korean Department at Samarkand University of Foreign Languages in Uzbekistan .
Founded an FM Radio Station in Turkey .
